PUBG Beginner Guide 2026: How to Use Basic Training Before Your First Real Battle Royale

A practical guide to PUBG’s revamped Basic Training: 17 chapters, NPC coaching, Blue Zone, vehicles, revives, Blue Chips and Beginner Training.

PUBG Beginner Guide 2026: How to Use Basic Training Before Your First Real Battle Royale

Update 42.2 rebuilt Basic Training in PUBG into a step-by-step onboarding path instead of a quick controls lesson. KRAFTON says the new tutorial takes about ten minutes and covers movement, parachuting, combat, Blue Zone survival, vehicles and team systems such as revive and recall. The best way to use it is not to speedrun the checklist, but to treat it as a rehearsal for real Battle Royale decisions. More coverage is in the PUBG world on Zaplat.

1. Where is Basic Training?

The official path remains Play → Training → Basic Training. Each chapter pairs you with an NPC partner who gives voice and Radio Message guidance while helping you complete the chapter objectives.

2. There are 17 chapters

The sequence covers movement, plane/parachute, weapons and ammo, aiming and firing, death-box looting, attachments, Blue Zone survival, throwables, armor, healing/boosts, radio communication, care packages, reviving, Blue Chips, driving and recalling a teammate at a Blue Chip Tower, with combat checks throughout.

3. Why the order matters

PUBG is not only a shooter. A new player can win a gunfight and die to the zone, or loot efficiently but fail a teammate. The chapter order connects systems into the kind of flow that happens in a real match.

4. Elimination restarts the chapter

KRAFTON says elimination during a chapter sends you back to the beginning of that chapter. Treat that as feedback rather than punishment: the specific sequence needs another repetition before you move on.

5. What are Clear Ranks?

Each completed chapter gives a score that results in B, A, S or S+ and grants rewards when you return to the Lobby. The rank is a replay/readiness signal, not a substitute for understanding why each action matters.

6. What should you actually master first?

  • A repeatable parachute landing without panic.
  • Fast basic loot: weapon, ammo, armor and healing before perfection.
  • The difference between ADS and shoulder aim.
  • Checking Blue Zone early instead of sprinting late.
  • Revive and Blue Chip basics so team play does not end at the first knock.

7. Vehicles are a rotation tool

The driving chapter matters because mobility connects zone management and teammate recall. A vehicle can rescue a bad rotation, but it also creates noise and information for enemies. Training teaches control; real matches teach timing.

8. Beginner Training continues after the tutorial

Update 42.2 also added Beginner Training from the top of the Lobby. It is available to all players. New missions arrive through Day 14, and all missions must be completed within 30 days of starting the program if you want to claim the rewards.

9. Use rewards as structure, not the only motivation

The important part of Beginner Training is that it gives you small daily objectives after the short tutorial. Instead of playing ten unfocused matches, let each mission become one practice theme.

10. When are you ready for real matches?

When movement, basic looting and zone awareness no longer consume all your attention, you can spend mental bandwidth on the real Battle Royale questions: enemy position, fight or rotate, next cover, and whether your team can recover. You do not need S+ everywhere first.

First two-hour plan

  • Complete Basic Training once.
  • Replay the two or three hardest chapters.
  • Open Beginner Training and read the first missions.
  • Play one real match with one focus: landing, zone or team play.
  • Return to Training only for the weakness the match exposed.
