PUBG Blue Chip Recall Guide 2026: Bring Teammates Back Without Turning the Rescue Into a Squad Wipe

Recover Blue Chips, choose a tower safely, manage multi-teammate registration risk, understand late-game limits and separate Recall from the newer Supply Call.

PUBG Blue Chip Recall Guide 2026: Bring Teammates Back Without Turning the Rescue Into a Squad Wipe

In PUBG, a teammate being eliminated does not always end their match, but Blue Chip Recall is not a free reset. You still need to recover the Blue Chip, reach the relevant recall opportunity and survive the registration process before the teammate can return. Updates 38.1 and 41.x added more strategic pressure around Blue Chip Towers, while Update 42.2 still teaches Blue Chip retrieval and tower recall in the current Basic Training flow. More coverage is in the PUBG world on Zaplat.

1. The first decision is recovering the Blue Chip

Recall starts with the chip, not the tower. If the enemy is still watching the death box, do not sprint directly into the same angle. Gather information, change the approach and use smoke or terrain where appropriate. Recovering the chip safely twenty seconds later is better than losing another player instantly.

2. Separate Revive from Recall

If the teammate is knocked and still alive, a safe revive is a different problem. Blue Chip Recall becomes relevant after elimination. Knowing the distinction prevents a team from abandoning an immediate rescue opportunity while already thinking about the tower.

3. A Blue Chip Tower is an exposed objective

The tower is a predictable location and opponents can understand what a team is trying to do there. Clear nearby high ground, buildings and vehicle approaches before committing. One player can interact while the others cover separate angles instead of stacking on the same point.

4. Recalling multiple teammates carries more registration risk

Update 38.1 made registration time scale with the number of Blue Chips, adding time for each additional chip. The strategic meaning is more important than the exact timer: bringing several players back in one registration gives nearby enemies a larger window to attack the tower.

5. Recall is not unlimited late-game insurance

The same update reduced recall-flight availability on 8x8 maps and removed it from later phases. PUBG explained that the system should function more as early recovery than endless late-game resurrection. If a safe recall window exists, delaying without a reason can cost the opportunity entirely.

6. Recall information also becomes match intel

PUBG added system-message and Match Log information around returning players. That means recall activity changes how other teams read the match. Once registration is complete, remaining around the tower longer than necessary can invite a third party.

7. Blue Chip Towers now have a separate Supply Call function

Update 41.1 added the ability to use enemy Blue Chips for a Care Package while leaving teammate recall as a separate interaction. Update 41.2 then adjusted that Supply Call. Treat the two decisions differently: enemy chips can become loot, but your teammate’s chip represents another player returning to the squad.

8. Do not carry the chip into an optional fight

Once the chip is recovered, you are carrying a chance to restore team strength. If the tower and zone are reachable, avoid fights that neither clear the route nor protect a necessary position. A side duel is rarely worth losing the carrier and the recall window together.

9. The returning player still needs a re-entry plan

Recall is not complete when registration succeeds. The returning teammate needs equipment and a safe way to become useful again. Decide where the squad can meet, what spare weapon or armor can be shared and whether the next rotation allows time to rebuild.

10. When should you abandon a recall attempt?

  • The zone will close the route before the plan can finish.
  • A stronger team controls the tower and no alternative angle exists.
  • Recovering the chip requires crossing exposed terrain with no utility or giving up a critical position.
  • The surviving team has a realistic late-game path while the rescue is overwhelmingly likely to wipe everyone.
  • Do not give up only because the distance is inconvenient; evaluate the actual risk.

Fast decision checklist

  • Confirm whether the teammate is knocked or eliminated.
  • Map the chip, enemy and zone positions.
  • Choose a tower before moving randomly.
  • Assign cover angles before the interaction starts.
  • After registration, relocate and prepare equipment for the returning teammate.

We used PUBG’s Update 38.1 for multi-chip registration and late-game recall changes, Update 41.1 and 41.2 for the separate Blue Chip Tower Supply Call, and Update 42.2 to confirm current Basic Training still teaches Blue Chip retrieval and teammate tower recall. The decision framework is Zaplat editorial guidance.
