EA SPORTS FC 27 gives its fans a direct role in the opening Team of the Week (TOTW) selections. For each of the first six TOTW squads in Season 1, the community gets to influence the selection of one player item from the footballers in EA's FC 27 Ratings Database. That is a meaningful new weekly ritual if you follow real-world performances, but it is not a fan-controlled vote for the entire TOTW lineup.
The critical rule is that your vote informs a decision rather than automatically electing the largest fanbase's favorite. EA's official Launch Update states that it considers community preferences alongside its own final selection process, and the chosen item will carry a Community Player marker in-game. A vote doesn't hand you a free special item or guarantee an OTW upgrade.
We checked EA's September 14 Launch Update, the official FC 27 Player Ratings voting interface and a sample EA player profile displaying Vote for TOTW. Because each week's button and eligible voting window are dynamic, this guide separates fixed voting rules from a one-day snapshot of what the site currently shows.
What is TOTW Community Player?
- One selection per week; you can change it before closing.
- Regular window: Tuesday to Monday 11:59 p.m. PT.
- Community votes inform EA, not a binding winner-takes-all election.
- One Community Player-marked item per first-six TOTW squad.
- No free pack or player item is promised merely for voting.
Team of the Week recognizes real-world football performances through special Football Ultimate Team player items. FC 27's opening-season initiative gives fans a say on one selection within each of the first six weekly TOTW squads, rather than picking every player themselves.
EA defined the experiment for Season 1's opening six TOTWs. It has not promised that exactly the same ballot lasts forever, so do not promote the Season 1 schedule as an all-year voting entitlement.
Where to find the official ballot
Open **EA SPORTS FC 27 PLAYER RATINGS at https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-fc/ratings . In the Team of the Week Community Player area, the page displays Start Voting** with the relevant week when a ballot is active. You can also navigate to individual player profiles.
A dynamically displayed phrase such as 'Week 5' is the state of a particular voting window, not a permanent feature label. Check the current site for its active round, and do not treat search-result cache dates as live election results.
How to submit and verify your vote
Find an eligible footballer in EA's ratings database and select Vote for TOTW or the active voting control. According to EA, you must sign in with an EA Account to confirm the choice; merely searching for a player or visiting their profile does not submit a confirmed vote.
Complete any legitimate account-login step at ea.com, then look for the site's confirmation. Avoid repeated blind clicking when the state is unclear. EA's rules do not require you to send an account password or two-factor authentication code to somebody in a chat.
One selection per week, with an edit window
EA explicitly allows one player per week. You can change your preferred footballer at any time before voting closes, which is a replacement of your selection—not an unlimited stack of simultaneous votes.
If a better real-world performance convinces you, revisit the official ballot within the permitted period and update your pick. No rule says buying additional accounts or using automated votes will make the selection more legitimate, so don't try to game the system.
Tuesday opening and Monday closing
A new regular voting period begins each Tuesday and ends on the following Monday at 11:59 p.m. PT (Pacific Time). This gives most fans several days to compare performances and make a choice, but the cutoff is a deadline, not a recommendation to vote at the last second.
The initial launch ballot began September 14, 2026 as an opening exception shown in EA's ratings information. That first date should not be confused with the ordinary Tuesday cycle that follows. When the current ballot closes, the site state changes.
What 11:59 p.m. PT means outside America
Pacific Time is a timezone, not your device's local clock. In early October, Pacific Daylight Time is ten hours behind Istanbul, so a late Monday PT cutoff is a Tuesday-morning deadline in Türkiye.
That offset can change with US daylight saving transitions, and EA may issue specific event notices. If your region is elsewhere, convert the displayed date and zone accurately and allow plenty of margin before the cutoff.
Six TOTWs are not six picks in one ballot
The program covers TOTW 1 through TOTW 6 in Season 1. One Community Player item can be included in each respective weekly squad, informed by that round's fans. The six weeks unfold sequentially rather than asking everybody to vote for six players at once.
A future end to the community-participation program does not mean EA will stop publishing TOTW generally. It means the current announced six-week community voting component concludes unless EA expands it.
Does the most-voted player automatically win?
No automatic majority-win rule appears in EA's official announcement. EA says community voting helps inform the final selection. The official player ratings portal likewise says the result is determined by a combination of EA and community votes.
A social-media poll, fan estimate or screenshot of a supposed lead is therefore not a confirmed TOTW Community Player. Wait for the official in-game player item marked by EA instead of declaring a winner early.
The Community Player in-game badge
EA says the selected TOTW player item includes a Community Player marker in-game. This differentiates the fan-influenced slot from the other regular Team of the Week selections.
The badge does not mean every player who participated received a pack, nor does it label the whole TOTW lineup as crowd-selected. Only one item per squad in the opening six-week program is covered by the community selection.
Ratings Database versus a live TOTW item
EA's Ratings Database catalogs players' base Gold, Silver and Bronze item information at launch. EA's own disclaimer says it does not represent every special Heroes, ICON or campaign item, nor mode-specific live form updates.
A footballer's OVR, PAC, SHO and PAS on the voting page therefore are not a verified forecast of the special TOTW card EA might produce. Keep the base rating and a future upgraded in-form item distinct when discussing value or progression.
How to assess a worthwhile candidate
Choose based on actual recent football performance—such as decisive goals, chance creation, a keeper's saves or high-impact defending—and then confirm the identity and position on EA's Ratings Database. A high base OVR alone needn't be your only reason.
Those are our editorial evaluation tips, not mandatory EA nominee thresholds. EA's announced eligible pool is the players in the FC 27 Ratings Database; it does not publish a universal minimum goal count or clean-sheet target for a valid fan vote.
Player missing from search or wrong club
The normal ratings portal search requests at least three characters. Try an unambiguous part of the name, examine diacritics and open the relevant EA player profile. Transfers and ratings data may be updated, and a cached result might lag.
An eligible overall database pool does not mean that every interface instantly lists every name in every region or at every time. If the Vote control is absent, first check whether that week's official window is actually still open.
Is EA Account login enough, or do you need a purchase?
EA explicitly requires signing into an EA Account to confirm a vote. Its community voting announcement does not ask voters to purchase FC Points, Packs, Ultimate Edition or a Champions Token as a voting prerequisite.
Availability may still depend on standard EA service/account conditions. Don't spend money on a 'premium vote' and don't assume a third-party website can legitimately sell ballot access. Start from ea.com.
Does casting a vote grant a free pack?
EA's public TOTW voting rules do not promise every participant an item, free pack or guaranteed card. The act of supporting a player is separate from the normal in-game distribution of special Ultimate Team items.
The Champions Token Store has its own Team of the Week-themed rewards, and Ones to Watch follows different live-upgrade rules. Those systems may share the letters TOTW but should never be treated as a single reward for clicking Vote.
What about Ones to Watch upgrades?
An Ones to Watch card may receive an OVR increase when its footballer earns a TOTW, Star Performer or POTM inclusion according to that campaign's terms. However, a fan vote alone is not the awarding of TOTW status, and not every nominee owns an OTW card.
Wait for EA's completed selection before discussing a possible corresponding OTW upgrade. Do not turn a strong social-media prediction into a promised card increase or suggest the community ballot controls unrelated upgrade mechanics.
'Start Voting Week 5' is a changing page state
On October 8, 2026, the FC 27 Ratings page's voting area included Start Voting (Week 5). That is useful evidence that voting windows advance, but a fixed 'current week' claim becomes stale quickly.
Readers checking after this date may see Week 6 or no active ballot once the announced program ends. Always treat the live official portal's current indication as authoritative, rather than a static screenshot embedded in an older guide.
Protect your EA login from fake ballot links
Confirm votes on the ea.com domain and use your own EA Account sign-in. Never give a password, login approval code or 2FA token to a video creator or a private message promising extra votes.
A claim that Coins, account sharing or a third-party 'vote multiplier' is necessary is not supported by EA's instructions. Return to the official ratings portal if a link asks for unrelated personal information.
Fast checklist and official references
Open FC 27 Ratings, select a footballer, confirm your account sign-in and cast your one selection. Change it if needed before Monday 11:59 p.m. PT. Later check the published TOTW for the in-game Community Player marker and remember the final choice includes EA input.
