Worlds 2026 qualified teams: 14 are locked by September 28, with five spots still open

Four LCK teams, four LPL teams, three LEC teams and three LCP teams are already in the 2026 Worlds field. Three LCS spots and two CBLOL spots remain unresolved.

Worlds 2026 qualified teams: 14 are locked by September 28, with five spots still open

As of September 28, 2026, the Worlds field is far enough along that we can build a reliable snapshot without pretending the full 19-team list is finished. Using Riot’s official slot allocation and completed regional results, 14 teams are effectively locked into the tournament: four from the LCK, four from the LPL, three from the LEC and three from the LCP. Five places remain open—three from the LCS and two from CBLOL. The important distinction is between being qualified and having a final Worlds seed. Riot has said seeding will consider regional performance, including MSI results, and will be announced later. This tracker therefore answers one question only: who is already in the field on September 28, and which qualification places are still unresolved?

Why Worlds 2026 has 19 teams

Riot’s published allocation gives three base slots each to the LCK, LCS, LCP, LEC and LPL, creating 15 places. CBLOL receives two, bringing the field to 17. The MSI champion receives another berth if that team reaches its home-region playoffs, while the region that finishes second at MSI gains one additional slot. Hanwha Life Esports beat Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in the 2026 MSI final. That result is why the finished field can contain four Korean teams and four Chinese teams rather than only three from each.

LCK: four names are in the field

Korea’s regional competition is complete for this snapshot. Gen.G beat Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 in the LCK final. HLE had beaten T1 3-1, and T1 had previously eliminated Dplus KIA 3-1. HLE also satisfied Riot’s condition for retaining the MSI champion invite by reaching its regional playoffs. Put those pieces together and the four Korean names in the Worlds field are Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1 and Dplus KIA. This article does not convert that playoff order into official Worlds seeds before Riot publishes them.

LPL: four teams as well

China has three base slots, plus the extra regional berth generated by finishing second at MSI. Anyone’s Legend won the LPL final 3-1 over Bilibili Gaming. The regional qualifier then resolved the extra positions: Top Esports beat Invictus Gaming 3-1, before IG came back to beat JDG 3-1. Using Riot’s allocation and those official results, the four LPL teams in the Worlds field are Anyone’s Legend, Bilibili Gaming, Top Esports and Invictus Gaming.

LEC: G2, Movistar KOI and Karmine Corp

Europe has three Worlds places. G2 Esports closed the LEC season by beating Movistar KOI 3-0 in the final. Before that, MKOI beat Karmine Corp 3-0 in the series that left KC behind the two finalists. The three LEC representatives are therefore G2 Esports, Movistar KOI and Karmine Corp. Qualification is the only claim here; Riot has not yet published the final Worlds seed numbers.

LCP: Team Secret Whales, CFO and MVK

The LCP settled its three spots earlier. Team Secret Whales beat CTBC Flying Oyster 3-0 in the final, while CFO had reached that final after defeating MVK Esports 3-1. Since the LCP owns three Worlds berths, the three names produced by the completed regional bracket are Team Secret Whales, CTBC Flying Oyster and MVK Esports.

What remains open? Exactly five spots

At the time of this snapshot, the LCS has not completed the competition that determines its three Worlds representatives. CBLOL is also still working through its playoff and regional-qualifier path, with two Worlds berths available. That leaves 14 of 19 names known from the four completed regions above and five names still to be decided entirely by the LCS and CBLOL. Any September 28 list claiming all 19 teams are final is getting ahead of the official schedule.

Why this tracker does not assign seeds

There is a meaningful difference between “qualified for Worlds” and “Worlds seed 1, 2, 3 or Play-In.” In Riot’s Worlds update, the company said seeding for qualified teams would be based on regional performance, including MSI results, and announced later. That means we should not automatically map a domestic finishing order to the final Worlds seed chart before Riot does. It also means the four Play-In teams should not be guessed purely from regional finishing positions.

How MSI changed the field

MSI mattered structurally, not just competitively. Hanwha Life Esports beat Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in the final. Riot reserved one Worlds invite for the MSI champion if it reached its home playoffs, which HLE did. Riot also awarded one additional Worlds slot to the region that placed second at MSI, which benefits the LPL because BLG represented that region. That is the clean explanation for four LCK names and four LPL names in a format whose base allocation is three each.

When Worlds 2026 starts

Worlds opens October 15 with the Play-In Stage at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The Swiss Stage begins October 23 in Allen, Texas. Knockout matches run November 3-8 at the same Texas venue before the final on November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The remaining LCS and CBLOL qualification business, plus Riot’s final seeding announcement, therefore has to land in the short window before Play-Ins begin.

How to use this list without letting it go stale

Treat this as a dated September 28 snapshot, not as a permanent final roster page. The completed regional results above will not reverse, but the five open places will resolve soon and seeding will follow. For live qualification changes, LoL Esports schedule/results remains the safest source. If another tracker lists LCS or CBLOL teams before their deciding official series have finished, separate prediction from confirmed qualification.
