Patch 26.19 is one of Arena’s largest option-pool shakeups of the season. Riot added more than ten Augments from ARAM: Mayhem, two creator-designed Augments, three new Guests of Honor, champion balance changes and several Augment buffs/nerfs. The result is not simply “more random choices”: the patch creates new build paths around cooldown loops, resurrection, crit-to-haste conversion, brush sustain, support rescue tools and lobby-wide map rules.
First: Augments and Guests are not the same thing
An Augment is a personal power choice for your champion. A Guest of Honor is a lobby rule modifier. Riot’s Arena design has players vote on Guests during event rounds; the winning Guest introduces a rule that can shape the rest of the game. That distinction matters because you can build around an Augment directly, while a Guest can change positioning or map value for everyone.
The new Arena Augments in 26.19
Riot marks thirteen Augments as new to Arena in the 26.19 notes. Most come from Mayhem, while Death Dealer and Got That Dog In Em were created with VestionOCE and SoyJamiie from the For The Win Creator Invitational.
1) Archmage — cooldown-loop option for spell-heavy kits
Whenever you cast an ability, Archmage refunds 30% of that cast ability’s cooldown from another randomly selected ability. The important word is randomly: this is not a deterministic reset of your best spell.
Zaplat Gaming analysis: Archmage fits champions that cast frequently and have several useful basic abilities. It is less attractive when your whole fight depends on one specific cooldown returning on command, because the refund can land elsewhere.
2) Crit N Cast — crit becomes Ability Haste
Crit N Cast grants Ability Haste equal to 40% of your Critical Strike Chance. At 50% crit that means 20 Ability Haste; at 100% crit, 40 Ability Haste.
Zaplat Gaming analysis: this opens hybrid paths for crit champions whose spells matter for mobility, self-peel, burst or utility. It is not automatically good on every marksman: if the champion mainly wins by uninterrupted basic attacks and barely values cooldowns, the conversion may be lower impact.
3) Death Dealer — isolate a target in the Death Realm
Death Dealer replaces Flee. You activate it on a target champion to enter the Death Realm for 4 or 8 seconds, and you are invisible for the first two seconds. At maximum level, killing the target grants your team an additional revive and delays that slain player’s revive by one second.
4) Got That Dog In Em — controlled chaos through pickups
A hot dog spawns nearby every three seconds. Anyone can pick it up and breathe fire. Enemy players can pick one up and damage their own allies, and dying while breathing fire causes an explosion that deals magic damage per stack.
This is a chaotic space-control Augment rather than a clean stat package. The tactical value comes from pickup denial, forcing movement and turning crowded fights into friendly-fire risk.
5) Hellbent — earn a resurrection by staying on enemies
Hitting enemy champions with attacks or abilities builds Revivemaxxing stacks for six seconds, refreshing on subsequent hits, up to ten. At ten stacks you become Hellbent. When you take lethal damage, you enter a four-second resurrection state and then revive with 35–75% maximum health on a 90-second cooldown. After reviving you also gain temporary adaptive force, movement speed toward nearby enemy champions and omnivamp.
6) Nature Is Healing — brush becomes repeatable sustain
Entering a brush heals you for 40–300 plus 15% of your missing health over 1.5 seconds. Each brush patch has its own 10-second cooldown.
Zaplat Gaming analysis: the per-brush cooldown means map awareness matters as much as raw healing. It becomes especially interesting when Ivern is the Guest of Honor, because lost rounds create additional permanent brushes. That is a strategic interaction inferred from the two confirmed mechanics, not a special hidden bonus announced by Riot.
7) Rite of Ascension — takedown reset and reposition
A takedown shortly after damaging an enemy leaves their Essence for eight seconds. Basic-attacking the Essence from close range begins a 1.25-second windup during which you are untargetable, displacement immune and unable to act; then you blink to it, gain rapidly decaying movement speed, heal and reset your basic ability cooldowns.
8) Shark Bait — death becomes an AoE threat
Fatal damage turns you into a 3.5-second zombie state with fixed 400 movement speed, Ghosting, 40% slow around you, invulnerability, untargetability and crowd-control immunity. You cannot attack or cast. When the timer ends, a shark erupts in a 400-radius area, dealing magic damage that includes missing-health scaling and knocking enemies up for one second. At maximum level, everyone on your team becomes a shark on death.
9) Sonata — automatic support pulses
Sonata alternates between modified versions of Sona’s Aria of Perseverance and Song of Celerity on a 7.5-second cycle. The healing version heals you, heals the most wounded nearby ally and creates a shield aura; the movement version grants you bonus movement speed and an aura that speeds tagged allies.
This is one of the clearest support/teamfight Augments in the batch. It adds value without requiring a dedicated heal or movement spell in your champion’s base kit.
10) Surge Field — build your fight around your ultimate
Casting your ultimate creates a 300-radius surge zone beneath you. While inside, you gain 50 Ability Haste and 40% bonus movement speed; damage to enemy champions also fires missiles for 20% of the triggering pre-mitigation damage as bonus magic damage. The zone can relocate after your first exit, then becomes easier to lose after the second.
11) Titan’s Resolve — long combat stacking for brawlers and tanks
Dealing or receiving champion damage grants Juggernauting stacks for six seconds. Every ten stacks grants adaptive force, Armor, Magic Resist, size and 8% Tenacity. Higher rank gains stacks faster.
This is a straightforward long-fight engine. Champions that repeatedly deal and receive damage can keep stacking; fragile poke champions that avoid contact may not exploit it as efficiently.
12) Warlock Juicebox — AP converts into omnivamp
Warlock Juicebox grants Omnivamp based on Ability Power. Riot’s 26.19 note does not provide a detailed formula in the patch text.
Zaplat Gaming analysis: it is attractive to AP builds that deal meaningful repeat damage and can convert healing into extra fight time. Do not invent a precise breakpoint without the live tooltip, because Riot did not publish one in the patch notes.
13) Wee Woo Wee Woo — emergency movement, healing and shielding
You gain up to 50% movement speed toward nearby allies based on how much health they are missing. Your healing and shielding are also increased by up to 50% based on the target’s missing health.
How to think about the 13 Augments by archetype
- Spell-loop / caster: Archmage, Surge Field.
- Crit hybrid / spell-reliant marksman: Crit N Cast.
- Duel / isolation: Death Dealer.
- Sustained brawler / second life: Hellbent, Titan’s Resolve.
- Takedown-reset snowball: Rite of Ascension.
- Frontline death value: Shark Bait.
- Brush sustain / map movement: Nature Is Healing.
- Support / rescue: Sonata, Wee Woo Wee Woo.
- AP sustain: Warlock Juicebox.
- Chaos / pickup control: Got That Dog In Em.
The three new Guests of Honor
Ivern — permanent brush grows from losing teams
When a team loses a round, Ivern spawns a brush at each of their locations, and those brushes last for the rest of the game.
The direct effect is a map that accumulates more brush as rounds pass. That changes pathing, vision interactions and brush-dependent play. As noted above, it also gives Nature Is Healing more physical brush locations to work with, though Riot does not describe that as a special bonus.
Senna — three portals to the Death Realm
Senna opens three portals to the Death Realm. Anyone can enter through a portal, and while inside the Death Realm players can use any portal to return to the living realm.
Zaplat Gaming analysis: Senna creates alternate routes for repositioning, disengage and flanks. Because the portals are available to anyone, they are not a private escape tool—you must track where enemies can re-enter too.
Thresh — downed players can still rescue allies
While downed, a player periodically throws a lantern to allies—Riot lists the interval as eight seconds. Allies near the lantern receive a shield, and anyone can click it to be pulled to the downed player.
This changes revive geometry. A downed teammate is no longer only a revive objective; they can shield or reposition the surviving ally, potentially pulling them away from danger or toward a safer revive setup.
Important balance context in 26.19
The patch also adjusts many champions. Riot buffs Aphelios, Elise, Ezreal, Lee Sin, Locke, Neeko and Zeri in meaningful areas, while reducing power on Bard, Bel’Veth, Dr. Mundo, Lillia, Ornn, Rammus, Rell, Sion, Veigar and Zed. These are not equal-size changes, so the right conclusion is not “buffed champions are now best.”
Several existing Augments are tuned too: Angel of Retribution gets better health scaling; Chroma Flux drops from Prismatic to Gold; Giant Slayer loses damage; Protein Shake gets stronger health scaling; Scavenger gold doubles to 1000; and Spellcraft gets a lower cooldown and higher base damage. Riot also raises maximum missing-health energy regeneration from 100% to 400%.
What should you reroll for?
A better question than “which Augment is strongest?” is “does this option reinforce how my champion actually wins the next rounds?” Start with your champion’s fight pattern, then consider your partner and current Guest.
- If your champion wins by repeated spell rotations, value cooldown and reset mechanics.
- If your team needs a second life to survive burst, resurrection/death-value Augments become more attractive.
- If you already have crit but your abilities are crucial, Crit N Cast can turn existing stats into spell access.
- If you are the team’s enchanter, Sonata or Wee Woo Wee Woo can add team value that raw personal damage cannot.
- If Ivern is active, brush value changes. If Senna is active, portal positioning changes. If Thresh is active, downed positioning changes.
- Do not reroll solely because a new Augment looks flashy; a lower-rarity option that matches your champion can still solve your actual fight.
The two creator-designed Augments deserve special attention
Death Dealer and Got That Dog In Em are the two brand-new Augments Riot says were built with VestionOCE and SoyJamiie, champions of the Season 2 For The Win Creator Invitational. They show two very different Arena design directions: one is controlled isolation and revive economy, the other is deliberately chaotic shared pickups and friendly-fire potential.
That contrast captures the patch well. Arena 26.19 is not only increasing power. It is adding more ways for the rules of a fight to change—where players stand, whether death is final, whether a team can reset after a takedown and whether the map itself accumulates new terrain.
